Go Red Birds!

I made my first appearance at an NFL game last Sunday! The Arizona Cardinals cheerleaders really were obnoxious, you know, begging me to join the squad, wanting fitness and makeup tips...I had to break it to them that I was just a spectator this time. However, I have learned the actual reason they call the big TV a Jumbo Tron...wow...even I was impressed.

Oh yes, the actual game. I was really surprised at how much smaller everything is in person. The stadium is huge and awesome, but the field was, well, just about 100 yards I'd say, and not nearly as immense as it looks on TV. The game was pretty uneventful, very low scoring, and full of bad calls and rookie style penalites...until the last 3 minutes of the game when it got really exciting and Carolina scored to win the game. At least that's what I hear...we left when there were 5 minutes left to catch our plane home. I'm assuming Adam will speak to me again one day, though I can't really be sure...

Adam wore his BSU shirt, and only the old guy giving directions to the correct escalator noticed, but it was fun to represent our boys anyway. Once seated, I found myself next to this guy who looked like a total gangster thug. He looked like a meaner, tougher Snoop Dog and I was a little nervous. Well, I learned my lesson about judging a book and so forth, because this guy turns to me with a beautiful smile and says "How you doing?" and proceeds to encourage his team with the cleanest language I've ever heard. I wish I'd gotten a chance to chat with him, but he was all business that day. I hope he wasn't too upset at the loss, because NFL teams need more fans like Mr. Snoop Dog-but-cleaner-and-nicer.

Oh yes, and for those of you who know me well-I did get to see Matt Leinart. I identified him by his blue arm sling standing by the sidelines. I couldn't see him well because our seats were in Utah, but it can be reasonably assumed that the man does great things for blue arm slings.

Best wishes Matt, I hope the collar bone heals up just fine.
